Qualified Psychologist – Part-Time Private Practice Role
Emerald Tree - Geelong West Office

We are seeking a fully qualified Psychologist to join our established and supportive team in a part-time capacity.

This role is ideal for someone who is either:

  • Looking to transition into private practice but not quite ready to leave the stability of their current NGO or government role, or

  • Moving into a semi-retirement phase and wanting meaningful, clinically engaging work without the demands of running a business, or

  • Ready for a change of pace into a more stimulating, client-focused environment where your skills are valued and well supported.

At Emerald Tree Counselling and Consulting, we understand that clinical work is only one part of a fulfilling professional life. We take care of the administrative load, client referrals, systems, and operational structure so you can focus on what you trained for — delivering high-quality therapeutic care.

Position Details:

  • Days: Thursday and Friday

  • Hours: 10:00am – 5:30pm (with flexibility to increase hours after an initial period, if desired)

  • Type: Contractor or employee arrangement negotiable

  • Location: Geelong region / clinic-based with established referral pathways

Clinical Focus Areas Include:

  • NDIS

  • Trauma-informed therapy

  • Medicare-rebated psychological services

  • DVA and Veteran populations

  • A range of presentations across age groups

What We Offer:

  • Steady flow of referred clients — no need to build a caseload from scratch

  • Administrative, billing, and scheduling support

  • A collaborative and professionally respectful team environment

  • Opportunity to focus on clinical work without business development pressures

  • Flexibility to grow your hours over time if and when it suits you

  • A practice with a strong reputation in the community for quality care across mental health, disability, aged care, and complex presentations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA

  • Experience in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions

  • A warm, professional, and client-centred approach

  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team

  • Commitment to ethical, high-quality practice

If you’ve been considering a move into private practice but want the reassurance of structure, support, and an established client base — or you’re seeking a more balanced and meaningful pace of work — we’d love to hear from you.
